New High-Performance school will provide a healthy and productive learning environment for students.

Stuart, FL (PRWEB) December 21, 2009 -- Greenblock® Worldwide Corporation announced that its Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) Wall System has been selected for the exterior walls of the Centennial school being built in San Luis Colorado. The new PK-12 school will be one of the first Colorado schools to be built under the “Building Excellent Schools Today” or BEST program aimed at replacing older schools that have potential health and safety issues.
This “high-performance” school will be extremely energy efficient while providing a healthy, safe and productive learning and working environment for its students and faculty. High-Performing schools have been linked to a higher quality of education, reduced student absenteeism, higher student and teacher morale and enhanced overall health.

Insulated Concrete Forms provide a solid-poured, steel-reinforced concrete wall system insulated with high R-value polystyrene foam insulation. ICFs create structures that are energy efficient, weather resistant, air-tight, quiet and comfortable.
The Centennial R-1 school district, along with Slaterpaull Architects and general contractor HW Houston, have worked together to design and develop this new barrier-free, accessible, sustainable school which will provide the district’s students and faculty an exceptional learning and working environment for decades to come.
Insulated Concrete Walls, Inc. (ICW) is providing professional installation services for the projects 36,000 gross wall square feet of Greenblock 8-inch core ICF walls. The 73,000 square foot, one-story school will feature four wings with wall heights from 10-20 feet.
